RE: Class C vs. Class A

I have an A so I can't coment about the C's There are some really nice C's out there. Two things that stand out in my mind are load capacity and storage. Most A's seem to have more.

RE: Homeless guy looking for advice on buying a Class "C"?

Bought my class A Winnie for $9,000 on ebay, four years ago. Looked at new ones that i certainly could afford. The question that always comes up is...why? It all works, no trouble, no payments, didnt break the bank to get it. My advice would be go for it but know what you are buying.

Would love to. Nothing is open to get services. Makes dumping the tanks impossible.

RE: Furnace wasted heat???

First of all the rv furnace purges any residual lp before the igniter starts. Then it opens the gas valve to let in lp. If you restrict this air flow you are asking for big problems..I know from experience. Secondly the carbon monoxide problems as listed above. The balance of air flow is so critical on these units, they tell you to remove the wasp screens (if you have them) before using the furnace. This would be better hydronic heater

RE: Help..frozen sewer valve

If it's only the valve, buy a heat gun. Becareful not to melt the pipes. Happened to me last year. I have Ultra heat, heat tape all the way to the valve, but not on the valve and it froze. The hair dryer just wasn't hot enough to overcome the cold. The heat gun did the trick.

RE: HITCH FOR TOAD

I have the Road Master Sterling All terain. Really user friendly. I installed the base plate to my Pt Cruiser myself. Its not really hard just takes some patience and time as not to make a mess out of the front of the vehicle.

RE: Toad wiring for trailering

Cutting an extra hole is not always an option. My Pt Cruiser didn't have enough room to allow it. Even though I flat tow my toad, the principal is the same. I put a 5 prong plug in the front bumper and wired to the back hatch. I use a set of auxilary lights that I plug in and hang from the back hatch. When I use my toad as a daily driver, I have no lights or wires hanging from the vehicle.

RE: firewood???

I burn wood as my home heat source. I have at least full 6 chords stacked in my yard at anyone time. I'm not paying $5 for 5 pieces. I'll smuggle it in if I have to.

RE: What's happening to the forum

There are only so many questions you can ask. Eventually the same questions get asked over and over and over again. You can do a search and get the answer your looking for from previous posts. IMHO if everyone search old posts you wouldn't find any new posts. I guess just keep on asking questions, sometimes someone will get bashed...get over it.

RE: Oil gauge acting up

My '92 454 Winnie did the same thing. Start it up and itwould pin all the way to the right. If you let it idle it would settle back to 40 pounds. Step on the gas and it would pin to the right till you let off. I replaced the sending unit and everything works correctly.

RE: Kwikee customer service!!!!!!!!!

I installed a brand new set of Kwikee steps last year and had a problem from the get go. Their customer service lady asked me if I got it from an approved Kwikee vendor...???? I asked her if they had a list and she said no...??? I told her I didn't know and whats the difference it was brand new and carries a one year warrantee according to the papers inside which makes no mention on approved vendors. I gave her the number of the New York State Attourny Generals Office so she could speak to them. She finally put me through to someone with a brain.

RE: winter storage and lcd/tv's

I'm sure that they are not stored in climate controlled warehouses or shipped in heated tractor trailers. Wouldn't worry about it.

RE: Shortening a mattress

I came accross a posting a few months ago about a person who wanted a real mattress in his boat cuddy (triangular shaped)rather than a foam one. There were very good pictures and details as to how he customized the shape of his spring mattress.
Unfortunately I didn't keep the website and can't find it to post for you.

RE: Hitch extenders.

My hitch extender recommends zero tongue weight. It says it should only be used for towing a vehicle with a towbar not for trailers. It is a solid 2" x 2" x 18" piece of steel.

Ideally you want heat from the floor and air conditioning from the ceiling. I dont think there are rigs that do that.

RE: Campgrounds in the Adirondacks

If you are talking about spring time, all of the campgrounds mentioned above are great places to stay, I have been to all of them. If you are talking about winter camping in the Adirondacks, good luck. The North Pole Campground says it's open year round. What I have found is that if there is a year round motel attached to the campgrounds, that is the "year round" they are talking about. Call first.
